SAPOE - saturated polyester
NTT AT has created a new type of protective coating called SAPOE that guards against rust for a long time. This coating is made from a thermoplastic powder and is completely safe to use, as it doesn't contain any harmful substances. It provides excellent protection against corrosion, even in extreme conditions.

SAPOE doesn't just protect against rust, it also has better resistance to alkali compared to other similar products. It can withstand the effects of UV radiation, which means it remains effective for up to 35 years in harsh weather conditions.

Corrosion and anti-corrosion
Corrosion is a major problem for industries like oil and gas, offshore operations, and maritime enterprises located near water. It can cause damage to structures, equipment, and the environment, leading to significant financial losses. This makes corrosion a significant challenge for these sectors.
Some primary concerns regarding corrosion in these industries
Equipment and Infrastructure Integrity
Corrosion can cause serious damage to important equipment like pipelines and tanks, leading to leaks, failures, and accidents. This puts workers, the environment, and the public at risk.

Environmental Impact
Corrosion also has a negative impact on the environment, causing pollution such as oil and chemical spills, and contaminating groundwater.

Downtime and Maintenance Costs
To fight against corrosion, frequent inspections, repairs, and maintenance are needed, which leads to increased downtime and costs.

Replacement of Assets
Severe corrosion can even require equipment to be replaced early, which is costly for businesses.

Fortunately, there is a solution called SAPOE anti-corrosion. It forms a protective barrier that prevents corrosive materials from harming equipment. This is crucial for industries like oil and gas, as well as offshore operations, where corrosion is a major concern.
Using SAPOE and other corrosion prevention strategies helps reduce risks, save money, and ensures that operations run smoothly and safely.

Repairs and Maintenance
Regular inspection, maintenance, and repair activities are required to address corrosion-related damage effectively.

Replacement of Assets
Early replacement of corroded equipment, pipelines, and infrastructure is a costly necessity.

Environmental Remediation
Costs associated with clean-up and mitigating environmental damage resulting from corrosion-related accidents or leaks.

Security Measures
Expenditure related to the implementation of safety measures, training, and emergency plans to reduce corrosion-related risks and accidents.

Downtime and Lost Production
Loss of income due to equipment downtime, production stoppages, and reduced productivity caused by corrosion-related problems.

Compliance with Laws and Regulations
Costs associated with fines, legal actions, and penalties for non-compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Reputation and Brand Damage
Corrosion-related incidents can tarnish a company's reputation, potentially leading to reduced market value and decreased customer confidence.

Potential savings using SAPOE
Extended lifetime of equipment
SAPOE significantly extends the life of equipment and infrastructure, which reduces the frequency of replacement.

Reduced maintenance costs
Routine maintenance, inspections and repairs are less frequent when effective rust protection is used, reducing operating costs.

Improved security
SAPOE helps to maintain the structural integrity of the equipment and reduces the security risk. In addition, you can potentially avoid personal injury, accidents and legal consequences.

Lower environmental clean-up costs
Prevention of leaks and spills through corrosion prevention can save companies from significant costs associated with environmental remediation and reprisals.

Increased productivity
Reduced downtime for repairs and maintenance means increased production and operational efficiency.
